Role:

Splunk is looking for highly motivated college students to join our team. As an intern, you will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment.

You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our IT teams from others. Working to support internal and external customer needs, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our values-driven process. Our goal is both to support your growth and development while empowering you for a successful start to your career.

Reporting into Sr. Manager of IT Operations Server and Storage, this intern, working with his/her mentor, will be responsible for collecting and reporting on service level metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that day-to-day operational requirements are met
  • Maintain a world class and highly available IT infrastructure
  • Provide support by resolving incidents, requests, and problems associated with various IT monitoring and logging systems.
  • Collecting, tracking and reporting for IT service level metrics.

Job Requirements:

  • “Can do” attitude and strong customer service skills.
  • Entry level understanding of various scripting languages such as BASH, Python, and PowerShell
  • Experience creating KPIs and service level metrics
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports for IT services
  • Candidates should demonstrate technical strengths in these technologies is a plus:
  • Understanding of helpdesk and IT infrastructure.
  • Worked with Microsoft Windows Desktop/Server.
  • Some knowledge of hardware infrastructure, preferable HP.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to customers and team members.

Education:

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, and strong record of academic achievement
