As the Director of Product Management - Content & Marketplace, you will be responsible for leading the efforts to maintain, scope, design, and implement both existing and new Splunk Marketplace capabilities (inclusive of Splunkbase). The marketplace will provide a robust ecosystem that allows Splunk customers to discover and use a rich set of community and Splunk-built applications, and enables developers to publish, lead, and monetize applications in these marketplaces. You will also be responsible for defining and leading the programs and tiers of marketplace content along with necessary certification tools and frameworks. Finally, you will drive the roadmap for development and maintenance of Splunk-built content and applications that address horizontal use cases around data ingestion and analytics.

You are a hands-on leader who can build and evangelize a transformative vision for Splunk’s marketplace capabilities; build and develop an extraordinary product management team; collaborate with and drive a team of innovators and engineers.

You possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, strategic thinking and tactical execution. The position is based at Splunk’s headquarters in San Francisco, California and development office in San Jose, California.

Description

  • Identify market opportunities, build business cases, and define the product vision and strategy for Splunk’s marketplace platform, content, and programs.
  • Ensure understanding of market direction, emerging customer needs, features, and functional requirements from which the product and engineering teams can design and implement new products and offerings.
  • Understand similar offerings in the market, and formulate a strategy around how to address common business challenges with creative and disruptive solutions.
  • Enhance existing products and work with the partner organizations and marketing to drive market adoption.
  • Partner closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as execution schedule.

Required Skills and Background

  • 10+ years in product management at an enterprise software company.
  • Experience and familiarity with marketplace platforms, content, and programs that have been successfully adopted by the ecosystem.
  • Experience and familiarity with software products for IT management, big data, and/or business analytics.
  • Self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative, enterprise technology environment.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
