We’re hiring for a Senior Financial Analyst role on the Sales Finance team to help us with some of the most critical and interesting challenges in support of one of the best-performing Sales teams in the world. You will have the chance to join a small, highly-collaborative finance team and make an impact on Splunk’s growing business. This role will be responsible for handling various corporate-level duties within Sales Finance, first, focusing on commissions modeling, and then opportunities in global consolidation, budgeting and forecasting. You’ll work with senior leadership as well as take ownership of core FP&A activities such as monthly and quarterly close, annual planning and forecasting, and helping drive better process around our systems and tools.

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

  • Own and run the commissions expense forecast model, ensuring accuracy and predictability, as well as partnering closely with Accounting on closing the books
  • Improve our internal process and procedures, establishing best-practices as well as leading change and improvements to enable the team to scale and grow
  • Help oversee across the Sales Finance team to handle, consolidate, and pressure-test the worldwide Sales budgets and forecasts
  • Responsible for monthly/quarterly close process and preparing the CFO for quarterly earnings calls
  • Support senior management team and departments heads with in-depth analysis and actionable insights
  • Roll up your sleeves and assist in developing annual operating plans, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus plan and/or forecast

  • This role is for doers; be able to get into the details and get the job done while at the same time being able to see the forest for the trees
  • Collaboratively-focused and maintain a positive attitude and work well with others in a fast-paced and ever-changing business
  • Superior forecasting methods and techniques. Detailed oriented with the highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of presenting complex financial information in an easy to understand format.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to interact comfortably with senior level management
  • Strong financial acumen broadly across the organization (e.g., understanding of financial documents, chart of accounts, business intelligence, FP&A processes, etc.)
  • Superior software and system skills (e.g. NetSuite, Microsoft Excel). NetSuite, Workday, experience a plus
  • Experience modeling and running commissions forecasts, forecasting revenue, as well as strong working knowledge of revenue recognition rules

Education: Got it

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters preferred.
  • 5 plus years of relevant FP&A experience in a high growth software and SaaS company
