Splunk IT is growing and seeking a dynamic Software Developer with strong ServiceNow development skills. Along with another team member, you will be responsible for the overall ServiceNow solution at Splunk. Other software development and administration needs within the team will drive delivery of high-quality services and tools to our Splunkers worldwide. You will also have influence on Splunk product integrations and design with an impact on our customer value.

Responsibilities of the position include:

System maintenance

  • Handle incidents per published SLAs
  • Ensure system stability by leading required maintenance schedule
  • Address system issues impacting SLAs
Implementation and Development of Web Services
  • Ability to develop web services and host on a micro service framework
  • Understand and abide by RESTful API guidelines
  • Follow standard methodologies of software development - logging, unit testing, code reviews etc..
Workflow Integrations
  • Implement ServiceNow workflows that integrate with external web services (API Webhooks)
  • Design and develop a workflow framework that can be applied to many workflows
  • Dedicatedly find new opportunities to improve our current manual processes
Lead updates to solution functionality
  • Understand the customer enhancements requests, business requirements and outcomes
  • Document business requirements, success criteria and business goals and objectives. Uses this information to prioritize the enhancement backlog
  • Convert business requirements into an initial design and provides capacity and budget estimates (+/- 50%)
  • Deliver enhancements on time and on budget (+/- 5%)
  • Handle capacity allocated between maintenance, incident management and enhancement delivery
  • Develop a quarterly plan for enhancements committed for delivery and get consensus from customers and IT leadership
Solution roadmap and alignment to customer roadmaps
  • You will provide standard methodologies for guiding adoption and influencing the customer to make investments in the solution
  • You will define the services that ServiceNow delivers and gets alignment with customers on service definitions, SLAs and critical metrics
  • You will maintain a ServiceNow roadmap that plans out investments in system maintenance, upgrade schedule, system improvements and additions to the ServiceNow ecosystem that aligns with the longer term mission of IT and SNOW’s customers
