Infrastructure DevOps Engineer

Role:
Responsibilities:
- Manage, support, and maintain on-premise virtualization infrastructure, bare metal hardware, server, backup, and storage platforms.
- Troubleshoot performance and stability issues using a variety of tools, including Splunk
- Install applications, agents, and OS patches to ensure smooth, secure operations of server platforms.
- Maintain critical services and technology lifecycle including licenses, support, and documentation.
- Follow change management processes and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize the impact.
- Plan, manage, and execute data center and infrastructure projects.
- Expand compute and storage capabilities to meet with customer demand.
- Ability to understand customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner.
- Have an automation attitude to improve and streamline day-to-day processes.
- Willingness to work off hours and on-call rotation as needed to support maintenance and incidents.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting an on-premise data center infrastructure.
- Experience managing VMware for virtualization workloads.
- Working experience with several Operating Systems, including Linux and Windows.
- Working experience with server configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Solid understanding of automation principles such as inventory management, provisioning services, and infrastructure builds.
- Solid understanding of compute, backup, and storage constructs.
- Solid understanding of public cloud concepts and constructs.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Motivated by and enjoys technology, automation, configuration management, and problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player and collaborative nature.
- Ability to engage effectively across teams and organizations
Preferred Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of sophisticated infrastructure environments and deployments, including data center infrastructure and cloud constructs.
- Solid experience with infrastructure support, including inventory management, monitoring, observability, and logging
- Experience with bridging automation ecosystems, including version control, CI/CD, and testing.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $133,600.00 - 183,700.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $120,240.00 - 165,330.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $106,880.00 - 146,960.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
