Corporate Attorney
Location: Boulder, CO – Hybrid (4 Days/week in office)
Compensation: $200,000-$260,000 plus bonus; While this salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, a candidate’s actual salary will be competitive based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience within the range.
Role Summary
This role provides legal guidance and support to the company on contracts, compliance, and corporate matters. The position serves as the company’s primary in-house attorney and works independently to identify legal risks, review agreements, and ensure company practices comply with applicable laws.
This is a hands-on role focused on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and managing outside counsel. The position advises senior leadership on legal implications.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advice and Risk Support
- Provide legal guidance to senior management on contracts and company practices
- Research, advise and interpret applicable laws and regulations
Contracts and Commercial Matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements
- Support sales, procurement, and business teams with contract review and risk management
Compliance and Regulatory Matters
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations and company compliance
- Support regulatory filings and corporate recordkeeping
Employment and Workplace Legal Support
- Provide legal guidance to HR on employment law matters
- Advise on investigations and workplace risk when needed
Litigation and Outside Counsel Management
- Coordinate with outside counsel on disputes and claims
- Support litigation strategy and settlement discussions
Corporate and Intellectual Property Support
- Coordinate with external counsel on patents and trademarks
- Support due diligence and documentation if the company engages in a sale or transaction
Team Coordination
- Oversee the Contracts & Compliance Manager
- Ensure timely and consistent contract review processes
- Improve legal workflows and documentation systems
Qualifications
- JD and active bar membership
- 8+ years of corporate or commercial legal experience
- In-house counsel experience strongly preferred.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts
- Experience interacting with senior management
