SoFi is looking for a Director of Campus Relationships for their Student Loan Business Unit. This role will report to the In-School Student Loans Business Lead and is responsible for the on-campus sales effort of SoFi’s In-School Student Loan businesses. The Campus Relationships Director will manage and drive sales to meet targeted goals in a specific geographic territory or academic discipline. Responsibilities will include executing on campus visits, conference participation and presentations and coordinating community events both digitally and in-person.
Importantly, building the In-School Student Loan business must be done in line with the SoFi membership experience to drive additional value for the enterprise. Additionally, the incumbent must collaborate with our legal and compliance team to insure the appropriate controls are in place and reasonable steps are taken as it relates to Preferred Lending Arrangements (PLA), RFP submissions and other applicable campus activity. This individual will act as an industry voice for SoFi in the external environment, and will be expected to represent SoFi on-campus and at conferences.
What You'll Do:
Work directly with Head of In-School Sales & Strategy to implement and execute the In-School sales strategy and plan
- Develop and build In-School sales channel with colleges/universities within geographic (or academic discipline) area of responsibility
Manage school relationships with Financial Aid officers and other key on-campus decision makers
Lead the sales practice to call on schools, handle RFP/RFI processes, attend industry conferences, and represent SoFi in the in-school market
Maintain ongoing contact with schools to coordinate In-School sales initiatives/projects, track the daily sales activities, streamline processes, and deliver excellent customer experience
Monitor competitive product and marketing activities for In-School lending market, compete market research and analyze results to optimize sales strategy
Assist the Head of In-School Sales & Strategy to manage the long-term growth of the In-School business in line with company goals, while meeting short term deliverables
Assist Operations team in coordinating optimal on-boarding of schools
Actively engage in shaping the overall SoFi customer strategy for the product that is sync with the overall customer vision and integrating seamlessly with other consumer products

What You'll Need:
- Must reside within territory including TN/IN/MI
Overall 10+ years of student lending sales experience and/or experience as a financial aid director at a major college or university
Experience developing and building relationships in a higher education setting
Strong knowledge of the federal and private student loan market
Must be able to drive timely desired outcomes working collaboratively with various functional stakeholders i.e. take important tactical decisions to move the business forward
Ability to independently strategize territory goal and execute based on opportunity and priority
Proven sales achievement including competitive positioning, quantifiable sales results and ability to drive the company agenda
Demonstrated ability to work as a team in a remote department environment
Travel requirement 50-60%
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters’ degree preferred
