The role

This Collections and Special Processing individual will design the Strategy for Collections segmentation, forbearance treatments and outbound contact efforts  for a range of products.. Additionally, the role involves transitioning to a Digital first environment and developing Channel optimization to serve the customers in the channel of their choice. The individual will be responsible for end to end strategy development from concept to implementation working in close quarters with Product, Engineering and IT teams.

What you'll do:

  • Incorporate model scores to develop robust segmentation framework to target high risk to Charge off customers

  • Create new treatment programs and eligibility criteria based on customers delinquency cycle. Oversee performance of forbearance enrollments. 

  • Develop and design contact strategies across multiple channels including online,outbound, e-mail and SMS

  • Be creative with offering solutions and nimble in working with data

  • Work closely with project managers to drive implementation of new initiatives within Loss Mitigation. Develop business requirements, operating procedures and assist with UAT

  • Identify, escalate issues and propose recommended solutions regarding potential issues with process, systems, collection tools, treatments and operations inefficiencies, to leadership with the goal of contributing to operational success

  • Participates in cross-functional projects designed to mitigate risk to the bank due to inefficiencies, fraud or lack of compliance

What you'll need:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of Consumer Banking Industry or Risk management/Analytics experience preferred

  • Minimum 3 years Collections experience preferably in strategy development and management 

  • Ability to code in SAS/SQL is a plus

  • Prior experience working on strategy development tools like Katabat a plus 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to answer questions

  • Communicate issues clearly & concisely to management

  • Ability to react to change quickly and implement new strategies & processes

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Professional demeanor and excellent work habits are essential

  • Some travel will be required
