We are looking for an accounting manager to fully manage a team of 5 accountants reporting into our VP of Accounting. The right person will have a strong passion for people and be able to leverage their strategic and tactical talents as we continue to scale and grow.
What You'll Do:
Ensure supporting files are complete and accurate with clear documentation of approach and conclusion for transactions posted in the general ledger.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Oversee equity administration process including review of equity grants and stock-based compensation expense
Research GAAP treatment and industry practice of new business transactions
Supervise critical account reconciliations and analytically review financial statement accounts
Take initiative to learn current systems
Assist with month and year end closing, audit fieldwork, and ad-hoc reporting requests
Identify areas of improvement within the department for efficiency and/or risk control enhancements
Provide staff training, oversight, and evaluation.
Identify technology opportunities for increased automation.
What You'll Need:
5+ years of accounting experience, with a preferred mix of public and industry experience
Prior experience with stock-based compensation
Financial services industry experience a plus
Big 4 public accounting firm experience highly preferred
Strong knowledge of technical accounting and public company best practices
Deadline driven, organized, and enthusiastic about working with others
Strong understanding of US GAAP fair value principles
Demonstrated ability to function in high volume and fast paced environment
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Good Microsoft Office skills, exposure to NetSuite a plus
