SoFi has an immediate opening for a Litigation Support Specialist/Paralegal with a background in litigation support, consumer finance, and collections. Our team needs a motivated, reliable, quick learner who works well under pressure and is eager to learn and be part of a growing business.
This full-time role reports to the Senior Assistant General Counsel and can be based in Reston, VA, with or Cottonwood Heights, UT. This position requires up to 50% domestic travel time.
What You'll Do:
Work with the Outsourced Servicing Team to help execute SoFi’s third-party collections strategy.
Develop an in-depth understanding of SoFi loan origination, servicing, and capital markets constructs
Review and complete documentation related to collections litigation, such as verifications and affidavits.
Represent SoFi as a witness in arbitrations, depositions, mediation, and trials.
In accordance with policy and guidance, efficiently assess and recommend action concerning loan settlement offers.
Conduct legal and factual research and perform administrative legal functions.
Prepare subpoena responses.
Exercise absolute discretion and professionalism at all times and exhibit a willingness to work extra hours as needed. Due to travel requirements, some evening and weekend hours may be unavoidable.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of work experience in a legal, collections, or financial environment.
Highly motivated and self-starting – you are eager to roll up your sleeves and get things done, with strong verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize as new situations and initiatives arise on short notice
Ability to interface with and work with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside SoFi
