SoFi is seeking a Market Risk & Hedging Associate who will be responsible for managing and optimizing the firm’s market risk exposures, while ensuring that firmwide market risks are appropriately measured and mitigated, when required. Working closely with cross functional finance teams, this member of the SoFi Treasury team will help manage the firm’s interest rate and credit exposure, investment positions, and other balance sheet exposures. This role requires someone who will be able to work collaboratively with various teams and divisions of the firm who are often located in other offices to help establish a robust market risk and hedging framework.
What You'll Do:
Monitor the firm’s market risk and hedge positions
Maintain close proximity to markets, brokers, and other resources to develop an informed perspective on market conditions
Generate daily exposure, positions and hedge recommendation reports
Engage in hedging and trading activities to rebalance / reposition the firm’s interest rate / credit risk exposures
Make daily hedging recommendations and decisions based on expected funding, operational, and capital markets activities
Perform in-depth analysis on various balance sheet exposures
Monitor daily hedging exposures and report key metrics to senior management of the firm
Explore opportunities and innovative ways to mitigate market risks (interest rate, credit, etc.)
Maintain and update the firm’s Market Risk Policy and hedging framework
Partner with engineering, data, and other technical resources of the firm to automate reporting requirements
What You'll Need:
4-7 years of work experience in trading, market risk, treasury, funding, capital markets, or risk management disciplines at a bank, asset manager, regulated broker dealer or depository institution
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or a related field; CFA, MBA, or FRM a plus
Exposure to rates/credit markets, securitized assets and/or warehouse funding activities
Interest rate risk modeling / analytics a plus
Experience modeling cash flows and market / liquidity risks preferred
Computer skills, including advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
