SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain information on incoming work and liaise with Manager, Coordinator, and Planning regarding the specifics of the work package
  • Responsible for status update of the heavy maintenance project and reporting issues to customer
  • Hiring and train new employees assigned to the heavy maintenance checks
  • Responsible for scheduling all required manpower, and assigns lead as required
  • Reviews upcoming work packages; plans for future or upcoming work in advance
  • Responsible for scheduling of all resources and maintenance projects at heavy maintenance base
  • Responsible to ensure performance management is completed and reflective of all feedback for employees
  • Directly manages Crew Chiefs in all aspects of work
  • Responsible for monitoring of all timecards and overtime and has final signing authority for each employee
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are adhered to and all quality standards relating to work are met and/or exceeded
  • Leads/holds regular team meetings to ensure timely and meaningful communication to employee group
  • Takes an active role in the Safety Management System including investigations and occurrence closing reports
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives for the team
  • Ensures tooling, equipment and parts are available to maintenance personnel to effectively and safely complete assigned work
  • Responsible for technical dispatch from a maintenance perspective
  • Interface between Engineering and Production

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • AME license and extensive knowledge of regulations
  • 8 years in aviation maintenance with sound technical knowledge
  • Type endorsements an asset
  • Developed leadership skills and ability to engage a team
  • Well-developed project management skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and implement appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment, and deliver under a degree of pressure
  • Highly flexible with schedule and is adaptable to multiple work-related situations
  • Customer service oriented
  • Highly organization with the ability to prioritize
  • Works autonomously and has a high degree of sound decision making ability

 

EDUCATION:

  • Completed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program or equivalent
