Job Title Material Control Planner III
Purpose is to procure mass production raw material required for wire harness business in GPP and Mexico as needed, while balancing physical inventory and preventing line shutdown .Planner must review entire pipeline and consider PO Cancellation, PO Push outs, urgent orders, normal orders, etc. all with the goal of maintaining a steady supply without exceeding Material Controls inventory goals (USD). Review of MRP and release of weekly purchase orders to assigned vendor base as required per production plan loaded into MPS/MRP system.  Perform detail analysis of POs, backorders, forecast, expedite requests, or any delivery issues. Perform weekly review, release, and interpretation of weekly forecast and backorder reports. Review of safety stock and targeted inventory levels as established by MC Management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review of MRP and release of weekly purchase orders to assigned vendor base as required per production plan loaded into MPS on a weekly basis. Work as customer service rep. as needed and have communication with suppliers to ensure they meet their delivery due dates.
  • Maintain safety stock and adequate levels of inventory available at warehouse to support mass production assembly.
  • Review, release, and interpreted forecast information to assigned vendor base.
  • Review of backorders and issuance of Supplier Delivery Non Conformance and Payment Deduction Notice to vendor base. Ensure that backorders are minimized and addressed issues with suppliers on a timely manner.
  • Follow up of new model vehicles and placement of prototype orders for trial and mass production startups.  Follow up of build out models and keeping obsolescence to zero or minimum quantities also required.
  • Have excellent communication and organization skills in order to inform production plants of material arrivals and or advise of any potential problems on a timely manner in order to give time all parties involved to react and plan accordingly to prevent major issues.
  • Generation of forecast report,  inventory report, obsolescence control, downtime, and others as needed.
  • Provide implementation dates for new components on ECN/CCR to Design section to start up a new component and phasing out old components to avoid obsolescence.
  • Assigning of carriers (Fedex/UPS/DHL) when expediting.  Tracking and follow up of shipments is required to avoid downtime at plants. Be aware of expediting costs root cause and evaluate countermeasures to minimize such cost.
  • Be able to support on any other projects or task as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations required in order to understand material flow and problem solving.
  • Effective analytical, written, oral communication, negotiating skills a must.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office such as word, excel, and PowerPoint programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines.
  • Be  able to identify supplier delivery issues on a timely manner and develop structure plan for supplier to get back on track, this could consist on increasing meetings with suppliers, requesting recovery plan and escalating issue to higher levels within supplier and SEWS.
  • Positive attitude and team personality. 
  • Some travel required. (Domestic and International)
