POSITION TITLE:Program Specialist 1
SECTION/DEPARTMENT: Production Control
REPORTS TO:
LOCATION: NCSC or Detroit
BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for gathering information from internal and external sources to lead project activities from prototype through the end of production. This includes creating and tracking production schedules, and coordinating meetings with cross functional teams to maintain a record of open issues while assuring project milestones are met to achieve production preparation and launch targets that align with customer deliverables and expectations.
BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
- Issue and maintain key program information to cross-functional teams throughout the entirety of the project
- Provide ongoing feedback and drive cross-functional teams to complete all deliverables and tasks on time to strengthen overall team effectiveness
- Lead weekly meeting with cross-functional teams to gather new information, follow up with key tasks, and identify any roadblocks that could impact internal and external deliverables
- Manage new special components in the early stages of development by working with cross-functional teams and providing necessary information to suppliers proactively to reduce production schedule delays and minimize expedited fees and other extra expenses
- Report the project status (planned vs actual timing/targets) to internal management and customer key contact members at designated times throughout the project
- Develop, coordinate, and lead production schedule meetings for every pre-production build event to manage all internal deliverables/timings and to deliver products that meet customer expectations
- Lead running change implementation plan by tracking KPI’s for all new design-level implementation readiness and working with cross-functional teams to minimize obsolescence
- Report and track vehicle line balance-out analysis and work with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information to identify solutions for scrap cost reduction
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key contact members
- Occasional travel to engineering and manufacturing locations (internal and external) to learn cross-functional teams’ processes to manage projects better and to support preparation meetings or build events
- Prepare the project reflection summary at the conclusion of each project to be utilized for future projects and internal process improvement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Degree Requirement:
Associate degree in Supply Chain Management or similar
• Experience (preferred): 1 to -3 years in Program Management
• Special Skill: Bilingual preferred (Spanish is ideal, Japanese, Vietnamese, Tagalog are a plus)
• Travel Requirement: Domestic and international travel as required (USA, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Vietnam)
• On-Call Requirement: 24/7 availability during Program Launch
