Basic Purpose:
 
  • Provide Human Resources support to Japanese expatriates at the Detroit & Ohio Office.
  • Provide administrative support to SEWS Executives at the Detroit Office.
  • Provide Human Resources support to the Detroit Office.
 
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Conduct new hire orientation for all new Japanese expatriates at the Detroit and Ohio Offices. Advise on company practices and policies, including payroll, health insurance, etc. Ensure timely and accurate processing of all related paperwork and materials into the ADP system, maintain associate personnel files/records.
  2. Provide ongoing support for all Japanese expatriates at the Detroit and Ohio Offices. Assist with health insurance setup/questions, banking, doctor visits, obtaining social security number, and driver’s license, etc.
  3. Coordinating and scheduling meetings/appointments for SEWS Executives.
  4. Manage active calendars of SEWS Executives and assist with onsite visits/meetings.
  5. Make travel arrangements for SEWS Executives and business visitors from affiliated companies and administer expense reports.
  6. Translation/ Interpretation as needed.
  7. Assist in continuous improvement activities (CIA) program by reviewing suggestions, tracking, discussing with managers and associates.
  8. Support Detroit office wellness program and will be expected to manage full program in future. Help assist with company event planning and implementation.
  9. Support with audits, training and various projects.
  10. Other duties as assigned by SEWS Executives and direct Manager.
 
 
 
Qualifications:
  • BA or BS Degree Required (Business or Human Resources preferred) 
  • 1-3 years of professional experience (Direct HR experience preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese (Native level Japanese skills required)
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgement regarding highly confidential internal and external communications
  • Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Strong motivation to handle challenging tasks
  • Proficient in MS office. Knowledge of ADP and Certify preferred
  • 3-5 days/week attendance at the office is required based on Executives' schedule and management needs.
  • 0-5% Travel
