Route Relief Driver

In this client-facing role, you will execute all functions regarding the daily delivery and pickup of goods to and from our clients. You will visit 10 - 20 customers per day where you will always be working to promote Service Linen Supply’s core values, products, and services. As a valued member of the Service team, you will serve as the first line of customer relations – striving to retain and increase our existing Business-to-Business relationships.

This position requires the strength of an ox, service with a smile, and the ability to assess our customers' needs. Therefore, you must be perceptive, observant, as well as privy to the fundamental goals of every business you support. Job Responsibilities

As a Route Relief / Route Manager, you will ensure that all customer invoicing and inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, prior to each delivery day, you will review customer paperwork for special needs or considerations and identify upsell opportunities where appropriate.

Additional responsibilities for the Route Manager include:

  • Reviewing customer inventories and storage areas upon each visit
  • Consistently building rapport and adding value through your delivery
  • Organizing products in your vehicle
  • Delivering fresh and collecting soiled product for laundering
  • Monitoring and seeking feedback from customers on perceived levels of service
  • Consulting customers on additional product options
  • Coordinating with Service Managers and Key Account Managers about creating solutions for current customer needs and product gaps

Job Requirements

As a Route Relief Driver for Service Linen Supply, you must maintain a clean and professional appearance. You must always practice appropriate lifting, carrying techniques, and take every safety measure while driving and servicing accounts.

Additional requirements of this position include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years proven customer service experience
  • No previous delivery or route experience required
  • Proven record of punctual work experience
  • Excellent driving record
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work 8-10 hours per day (start time between 4:30 to 6:00AM and end time between 1:00 to 6:00 PM)
  • Strong verbal, written, and mathematical skills
