Day shift

Assess, plan, design, organize and treat through the use of selected therapeutic activity. Work with individuals who are temporarily or permanently disabled by physical or mental illness, by social or developmental problems. Provide treatment to prevent disability, improve health and to fulfill the person's needs by achieving optimum function and independence in work, leisure and personal responsibilities.

Begin:

  • Document the initial evaluation, plan of care, treatment, progress and discharge of patients timely and accurately
  • Test and evaluate patients' physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for patients
  • Select activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their mental and physical capabilities
  • Plan, organize, and conduct programs in outpatient setting to help rehabilitate those impaired because of illness, injury, psychological or developmental problems
  • Recommend changes in patients' work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities
  • Consult with rehabilitation team to select activity programs and coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities
  • Help individuals improve decision making, abstract reasoning, memory, sequencing, coordination and perceptual skills, using computer programs
  • Develop and participate in health promotion programs, group activities or discussions to promote individual health, facilitate social adjustment, alleviate stress, and prevent physical or mental disability
  • Provide training and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for less experienced and newly hired therapists
  • Participate in role of clinical instructor for occupational therapy students from accredited programs
  • Instruct patients and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
  • Assumes responsibility for unrelenting quality through patient and employee satisfaction
  • Achieves goal of value based provider through expense control
  • Assume responsibility for leadership roles in initiating and implementing new programs for the facility
  • Assume leadership roles in various aspects of the clinic’s daily operations
  • Participate in community service, fundraising events, and informational programs
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the rehab managers and executive director
  • Perform duties with respect, courtesy and kindness to achieve excellence in customer service
  • Create environment of efficiency and concern for the needs of the patients
  • Work effectively with all personnel to create an environment of cooperation and respect

 Become:

  • Experience specific to position of Outpatient Adult Rehabilitation, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Work Rehabilitation
  • Certification in CPR through American Heart Association
  • Current Licensure in the state of Missouri as an Occupational Therapist
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
