Are you looking for an exciting role with a rising tech company leading their industry? This role will join our expanding Sales team in our Midwest territory, covering Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota. An entrepreneurial role, this position will develop and execute effective and efficient sales strategies to expand the company’s client footprint. This position works to identify new prospective clients and nurture those relationships through a consultative approach to develop new sales.  The Business Development Manager primarily focuses on new client (and SaaS site) development, while maintaining relationships with existing clients in the region to ensure continued client retention and success.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes sales plans and programs, both short and long range
  • Works to achieve sales goals to help ensure company growth and profitability of services
  • Assists with the company’s promotional activities, including direct mail and online campaigns, webinars, etc.
  • Represents the company at conferences and tradeshows, as well as demos and short list interview
  • Maintain up-to-date Sales Funnel using Salesforce
  • Recommends changes in products and services offered, to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to market problems and opportunities
  • Diagnose problems, suggest solutions, negotiate, and close the deal.
  • Manage your contacts, leads, opportunities through Salesforce

  • A track record of success, aggressive business growth and exceeded sales quotas
  • A hunter sales mentality with tenacity and confidence
  • Experience in negotiating and closing contracts
  • Tech savviness and strong presentation skills

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • GIS and IT experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years’ geographic information systems (GIS) or geospatial experience required
  • The ability to travel up to 50%, primarily within the territory
  • Experience working with local government a plus
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM a plus
  • A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and the ability to be covered by the Company’s insurance is required.

 

This position includes very heavy client and potential client contact and a very high amount of regional travel. This position reports to the Director of Sales.
