Description

Schnabel is a leader in specialty design-build underground construction. We are looking for a Project Foreman or Superintendent with experience coordinating and directing crews. The role’s main responsibility is to ensure the successful installation of our geostructural solution on time and under budget. The work is to be built in accordance with plans, specifications, and agreed upon scope of work. You will also mentor and develop our field staff.

Schnabel was founded in 1959 in Washington DC and has grown to become one of the nation’s top geostructural contractors. We are family owned and operated with a focus on safety, quality of work, and growth. With a national footprint it’s sometimes difficult to maintain the small company feel, but we’ve been successful in preserving that part of our culture. Not only will you have innovative and bright leaders, but you will also be set up for your own development with Schnabel’s training roadmap. Our internal training program is setup to grow your skills and knowledge with our work.

  • Partner with our safety department to maintain a safe worksite that complies with OSHA requirements and Schnabel safety policies
  • Ensure that each worker onsite knows their job and has the support from leadership to complete it
  • Develop training opportunities for engaged and responsible employees
  • Ensure equipment onsite is well maintained, available, and clean
  • Review and prepare all onsite documentation in a timely manner, including daily reports and job site safety records
  • Communicate with the client and internal project manager to navigate the challenges during active construction

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field supervisory role with heavy preference to those with geotechnical or geostructural experience
  • Ability to travel and stay local to the project you are building
  • Safety oriented, working knowledge of OSHA policy
  • Computer literate and comfortable with Microsoft Office products such as Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Well-organized and able to delegate tasks to qualified crew members
  • Self-starter, motivator, innovator, and leader

Benefits

  • Company truck or vehicle allowance
  • Access to insurance either through Schnabel directly or through your Union Hall
  • Strong travel package for out-of-town work
  • Additional benefits to discuss during the interview process
