Schnabel, a leader in specialty underground construction, is looking for a Business Development Manager. This role was created to expand our business and navigate strategic partnerships from a national level. The main responsibility is to bring new and exciting bid opportunities to our field offices.

 

Schnabel was founded in 1959 in Washington DC and has grown to become one of the nation’s top geostructural contractors. Family owned and operated; we are currently looking to add a business development manager at our corporate office. This role will report directly to the President of the company and provide support to executive leadership.

 

Our typical scope of work includes installation of piles, lagging, walers, tiebacks, and braces for support of excavation projects. We also take on challenging projects with underpinning, grouting, tunneling, and unique structural support as part of our scope. Candidates having direct construction experience and familiarity with our company’s traditional scope of work are preferred.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy to increase sales with our existing top customers
  • Bring new customers that align with our strategic growth goals in the business
  • Collaborate with preconstruction and operations teams
  • Partner with corporate resources to gain share in existing markets and also develop strategy to penetrate new markets through targeted marketing and other creative methods
  • Cultivate new client relationships through networking
  • Travel nationally to attend in person meetings and educate clients on our services
  • Attend seminars and industry conferences to network with clients and potential clients
  • Evaluate competitors to continuously expand our competitive differentiation
  • Train and mentor business development skills to internal stakeholders
  • Familiarity with implementation and application of CRM systems
  • Coordination of the organizations marketing activities associated with strategic growth initiatives

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Civil Engineering, or other relevant degree
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or construction sales role
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
