JOB TITLE: Director of Automotive Memory Sales


Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. (DSA) is a world leader in Memory, System LSI, Storage, LED and LCD technologies.  

This position is the sales lead for the organization's Automotive Memory Products sales force within North America.  This is done by managing the team to apply technical, organizational, and general knowledge of each customer to influence them in applying the Samsung Automotive Memory products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing and market planning of products and services with an emphasis on Automotive OEM, Tier 1, and American channel/distribution accounts.


  • Responsible for establishing Sales processes and coordinating all Sales activities for Automotive Memory sales via In-Direct and Direct Sales channels within North America as well as personally responsible for Automotive Memory Sales to customers whose headquarters are within the West Coast.
  • Travel in a specified region meeting with customers, distributors, and sales reps (sometimes all together) to promote the Samsung Automotive Memory product offering and provide support such as application, product training, and services to achieve Sales Plan and quarterly Management Business Objectives.
  • Respond to customer, distributor, and sales reps product inquires (emails and phone calls) relating to specification, pricing, delivery and purchase orders. Participate in conference calls and video conference call trainings.
  • Manage executive relationships and metrics with key customers, distributors, and 3PLs, including inventory levels, turns, contracts, quarterly corporate business reviews, periodic local/regional business reviews at select branches, and drive increased sales within designated accounts within the specified region or major geographical area.
  • Regularly publish in-depth status reports, including recommendations for Strategies to improve Sales performance.
  • Clearly establish Sales Plan Goals with our Sales Channel.  Implement and maintain Quarterly Business Reviews with all Distributors and Sales Reps.  Create Weekly Activity and Monthly Opportunity, Demand Forecast, Promotion Calendar. Participate in Samsung internal conference calls with the Automotive Memory Sales Team (US and HQ Korea). Generate customer call reports. Obtain customer TAM information. Obtain Market sector knowledge. Monitor our present and future position within all facets of the competitive landscape.
  • Set sales goal targets for each assigned customer by product and create a sales plan to meet these targets. Provide weekly updates on the progress of the sales targets versus the actual results. Implement improvement plans when there are shortages in results to bring the sales number to acceptable levels
  • Create a strong business relationship with assigned customers to allow for effective collaboration on new product design and development. Develop a plan to have weekly meetings with the key people to allow for good communication and hear the Voice of Customer(VOC) to be sure Samsung is meeting the needs of the customers


  • B.A , B.S or higher Degree
  • 10 yrs  Experience in Semiconductor Sales and Management
  • In-Depth understanding of the Automotive Market (including all various Channel nuances)
  • Ability to comprehend, explain, and present the details of Automotive Memory applications
  • Ability to create Business Plans
  • Ability to manage selling partners
  • Ability to manage pricing and channel partner margins
  • Possess PC and Laptop skills
  • Skilled in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Email



  • > 5 yrs Sales experience within the Automotive semiconductor segment
  • Experience Managing a Sales Team
  • Foreign-based, multi-national Semiconductor Experience
  • Successful track record in strategy setting and implementation
  • Experience of managing multi-channel sales dynamics
  • Proven success in differentiating product offering vs competitor(s)
