Job Title: Manager, Field Application Engineering- Automotive Imaging


Samsung Semiconductor Inc. is looking for a top tier FAE who will support automotive imaging component business activities in the USA, reporting to the head of US New Business Enablement.  This role will be communicating and executing strategies of Samsung automotive component business focused around imaging technologies and products for the US market. The role is also responsible for ‘Customer Engineering support’ for Samsung automotive CMOS image sensors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Subject matter expertise for CMOS image sensors and camera systems in automotive
  • Pre-sales support
  • Documentation
  • Debug, triage customer issues on QC, 3rd party BSP.
  • Customizations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following domains:
  • CMOS image sensors
  • Automotive imaging system
  • Camera modules, Computer Vision
  • ADAS product development/engineering/pre-sales
  • 5+ years of experience with debugging techniques and with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Required Skills: 

  • 5 years of work experience in product development or customer engineering related role (development, marketing, sales or business development) for Automotive
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years Hardware Applications Engineering, Imaging Software, or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
  • Ability to travel (~25%)

Preferred Skills 

  • 7+ years as hands-on automotive related development/customer support in imaging, ADAS and/or Autonomous Driving
  • 6+ years CMOS image sensors or auto electronics industry experience.
  • Experience in managing imaging/camera technology related to customer projects and relationships
  • Ability to proactively manage customer expectations to influence customer relations and design decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to a range of audiences
  • Imaging/SW/HW technical skills for initial triage of customer project issues and management
  • Knowledge and experience with Korean business culture
  • Strong foundational knowledge of the automotive industry
