Modem Systems Engineer Intern (5G/LTE -Advanced Baseband Algorithms and Research)

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. in San Diego is searching for wireless modem systems engineer interns. Candidate will join a team conducting research on next generation wireless systems (5G and beyond) and working on the system design, standardization, implementation, and verification of a modem chip for latest 3GPP standards such as New Radio (5G), LTE and V2X.

  • Research wireless communication techniques for next generation wireless systems (5G and beyond), with the focus on digital baseband signal processing
  • Understand the latest 3GPP wireless communication standards and systems
  • Develop signal processing algorithms for 5G and other wireless communication systems
  • Develop MATLAB and C/C++ simulators and study the system performance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in communication theory, information theory, signal processing, estimation theory, random processes, channel coding, optimization, applied mathematics
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and presentation skills
  • C/C++, Python, and MATLAB coding skills
