Modem Systems Engineer - Channel Coding


Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with in-depth knowledge on channel coding and deep learning to join our team. We are part of a team that designs cellular algorithms for Samsung Exynos chipsets and also participate in 5G standardization. In this team, you will perform research on channel code design using deep learning to enhance Samsung products and platforms and to contribute to 5G/6G standardization.


  • Conduct research on channel code design using deep learning
  • Perform necessary simulation for training and testing on GPUs using deep learning tools such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Publish research results on reputable conferences and journals
  • Contribute to 5G/6G standardization for physical layer channel coding design

REQUIRED SKILLS   (Education Certificates, Licenses, Travel)

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science plus relevant industry experience in wireless system design and deep learning application
  • Strong background in channel coding theory, information theory, and deep learning
  • Experience with key deep learning tools and libraries such as TensorFlow and Pytorch
  • Python/C++/MATLAB coding skills
  • Strong background in cellular communication systems design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred
  • Modem implementation experience with strong background in modem PHY algorithms design
  • Strong background in communication theory and signal processing
