Product Owner (Commercial Insurance)
We’re seeking a forward-thinking Product Owner to lead and drive business value across key enterprise initiatives. This role will own the product delivery roadmap, refine the team backlog, and ensure delivery aligns with user needs and strategic goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, Agile environment and brings strong experience managing complex initiatives with multiple dependencies. This role requires strong collaboration, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate business priorities, capabilities and features into a technical delivery plan. The ideal candidate will have commercial insurance experience, understand the industry technologies that support the full policy management lifecycle, and the insurance value chain.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Drive prioritization of business initiatives to align with strategic objectives and customer value.
  • Own the product delivery roadmap and maintain a groomed, actionable backlog.
  • Help define and deliver business value and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders aligned with product OKRs and measurable outcomes.
  • Refine epics and features into user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with stakeholders in Business, Operations, and IT to align priorities and execution.
  • Ensure delivery meets user needs through active collaboration, testing support, and validation.
  • Co-manage risks and dependencies, and provide transparent updates on initiative status and health.
  • Communicate proactively and transparently on the health and status of initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging Agile metrics to refine team performance and delivery processes. 
  • Partners with business and technical teams to plan and prioritize system releases and publish release artifacts.  
Required Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Sr. Business Analyst, or similar role in an Agile environment.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex enterprise initiatives with multiple workstreams and dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and Agile delivery practices, including lean-agile mindset.
  • Demonstrated success in backlog management, roadmap ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, design, QA, and business teams.
  • Solid understanding of commercial and specialty lines insurance—or the aptitude to ramp up quickly.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—clear, concise, and candid.
Preferred: 
  • SAFe POPM certification or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, and product management platforms.
  • Experience working in a scaled Agile environment with matrixed teams.
