Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled GL Accounting Manager with expertise in India and US accounting to lead financial operations, ensure compliance with US GAAP, I-GAAP, and IFRS, and optimize accounting processes. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA with strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience in general ledger accounting, cost allocations, payroll, lease accounting, intercompany transactions, ESOP accounting, revenue recognition, and audit support.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & amp; Compliance:
- Oversee and perform general ledger (GL) accounting and reporting for India and US entities.
- Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations for US and India Entities
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, I-GAAP, and IFRS for all financial transactions.
- Manage and review balance sheet account reconciliations (assets & liabilities).
- Oversee payroll accounting for India and US, including contractor and subcontractor costs.
- Implement and monitor lease accounting (ASC 842) for both operating and finance leases.
- Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, including validation, amortization, and cost allocations.
- Review AP vendor accruals, subcontractor cost accruals, and unapproved invoice accruals.
- Manage insurance cost allocations for India and US invoices.
Handle intercompany accounting, including:
- Recording and reconciling intercompany transactions across entities.
- Ensuring timely settlement of intercompany balances.
- Eliminating intercompany discrepancies during consolidations.
Management Reporting:
- Lead cost allocation processes, including common cost allocation and direct/standard cost allocation.
- Oversee and validate the Accounts Payables Coding Matrix.
- Prepare and analyze headcount reports for payroll and subcontractor costs.
- Consolidate and validate payroll, direct contractor, and subcontractor costs across India and US operations.
- Support India and US audits, ensuring timely responses to audit queries and compliance requirements.
- Ensure intercompany reconciliations are accurate and compliant with global reporting standards.
- Process Optimization & Leadership:
- Document Process, Internal Controls and Implement best practices in accounting, improving efficiency in financial
- reporting, intercompany transactions, ESOP accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Drive automation initiatives in Excel and ERP (preferably NetSuite) to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Implementation and Data Migration from legacy Accounting system to new ERP system
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial controls.
Additional Responsibilities
ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan) accounting, including:
- Recording and expensing stock-based compensation as per IFRS 2 and ASC 718.
- Ensuring proper valuation and disclosure of ESOP-related expenses.
- Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15:
- Review contract terms and revenue schedules for accurate recognition.
- Ensure correct classification of deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract liabilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant ( CPA) required.
- 8+ post qualification years of experience in GL accounting, financial reporting, intercompany accounting, ESOP accounting, revenue recognition, and cost allocations.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, I-GAAP, and IFRS.
- Expertise in lease accounting (ASC 842), fixed asset management, payroll accounting, intercompany reconciliations,
ESOP accounting, and revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros preferred).
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
