Media Supervisor

Essential Functions:


  • This position will be embedded within client headquarters in Dallas. 
  • Supervisor will be day to day client contact, working alongside clients.
  • Has expert understanding of client business verticals, objectives and strategies.
  • Supervises E=MC2 planning process including research, evaluations and recommendations of media vehicles and tactics, all the way through plan development, presentation and follow up.
  • Strong digital knowledge required including media, data and analytics. 
  • Expected to lead media team integration and collaboration with client and internal teams.
  • Assists media management with staffing decisions, conducting annual performance reviews within their teams and providing ongoing evaluations of media staff.
  • May work with Account Management, Creative, PR, Social and Engagement on development of strategic marketing plans to ensure correct media direction.
  • Leads and motivates media planning team, assigns workloads and promotes teamwork.
  • Meets with clients on strategic issues as well as presents media plans.
  • Leads partner negotiations of rates, positioning and added value opportunities to increase and expand media value and visibility.
  • Participates in agency new business efforts, presentations, and other key department projects with media management as needed.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with internal teams, clients and partners.
  • Run client meetings as needed and oversee all media efforts, including all follow up correspondence.
  • Reviews and evaluates media proposals as submitted, developing POVs as needed.
  • Expected to be highly proficient across all media, including Broadcast, Print, OOH, Online and Mobile, gaining advanced knowledge in all areas.
  • Expert understanding of media math, research tools and systems, including IMS, MRI, Scarborough, Nielsen, Arbitron, ComScore, Media Tools, Doubleclick, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Expected to manage planning team on reporting, optimization (creative and ad placement) and analysis/ROI of all plans, including follow up presentations.
  • Oversee professional development of assigned staff, working with Director to identify areas of improvement and foster professional development through training, mentoring, and recommending educational opportunities.
  • Should exhibit awareness and desire for continued education within advertising space including new media, industry trends, market conditions and research.
  • Will complete R&R’s rrMIT 101 and 201 training programs within first year of employment.


Other Responsibilities:


  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Understands and abides by the agency’s business practices and philosophies as well as understands R&R’s policies and procedures.
  • Helps develop and run R&R’s media training program.




  • Maintains accurate daily time sheets.
  • Maintains an appropriate appearance and demeanor with clients and in other professional environments.
  • Must be conscientious.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.


Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in advertising or related field or equivalent experience.  Minimum of five years’ experience in media planning and buying across all media preferred, including traditional and digital media. Strong oral and written communication skills.  Must have effective interpersonal skills, be computer literate and have demonstrated leadership ability.
