Senior Paid Social Specialist

Essential Functions:

  • Brings an established level of digital forward thinking and innovation to media plan development, ensuring plans deliver against evolving media landscape.
  • Manages up to Associate Director of Social Publishing as strategic paid social media lead on client business, helping deliver results oriented outcomes.
  • Stays on the forefront of digital trends and looks for opportunity within marketplace, bringing forward proactive ideas and solutions.
  • Has solid understanding of assigned client business verticals, objectives and strategies.
  • Leads E=MC2 planning process including research, evaluations and recommendations of social media vehicles and tactics, all the way through plan development, presentation and follow up.
  • Displays solid understanding of Velocity and how to apply the focus areas to job function.
  • Expected to help media team lead integration and collaboration with client and internal teams.
  • Works with media and publishing teams on a regular basis, including work flow, company policies and professional development in conjunction with Media Management.
  • Manages up to Supervisor and Media Director on plan execution, project status, brainstorms and workflow.
  • Expected to establish and build strong relationships with internal teams, clients and media partners.
  • Attend client meetings as needed and run point on all paid social media efforts, including all follow up correspondence.
  • Reviews and evaluates paid social media proposals as submitted, developing POVs as needed.
  • Depending on client assignment, will be expected to work across all paid social platforms and gain understanding of other digital media areas. 
  • Expected to have strong understanding of paid social self-serve platforms.
  • For paid social responsibilities, will be expected to lead reporting, optimization (creative and ad placement) and analysis/ROI of all plans including attribution.
  • Updates all media flowcharts, budget & invoice reconciliations, and plans as necessary.
  • Sends and tracks media authorizations and contracts, including proper documentation of all approvals, signed paperwork and revised documents.
  • Oversee development of creative grids with proper social media specifications for account and creative teams.
  • Expected to have expert knowledge of media math and be able to display/teach others within the media team.
  • Should exhibit awareness and desire for continued education within advertising space including new media, industry trends, market conditions and research.
  • Works with media and publishing team to analyze and monitor results of media campaigns/schedules as prepared by buyers, prepares follow-up presentations and recommends optimization strategies.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Understands and abides by the agency’s business practices and philosophies as well as understands R&R’s policies and procedures.
  • Participates in R&R’s media training program and other training where assigned.



  • Maintains accurate daily time sheets.
  • Maintains an appropriate appearance and demeanor with clients and in other professional environments.
  • Must be conscientious.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in advertising or related field or equivalent experience.  Minimum five years’ experience in media planning and buying.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Must have effective interpersonal skills, be computer literate and have some supervisory experience.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets.
