Search Specialist

Essential Functions:

  • Has solid understanding of assigned client business verticals, objectives and strategies.

  • Expected to lead paid search (SEM) campaigns creation, optimization and reporting.

  • Lead effort to determine proper SEM budget, keywords, bid management and ad cop

  • Recommend and perform A/B testing on ad copy.

  • Keep pace with SEM industry trends and educate media staff.

  • Google analytics and adwords certification required.

  • Expected to help media team lead integration and collaboration with client and internal teams.

  • Works with Assistant Media Planner/Buyer and Media Planner/Buyer on a regular basis, including work flow, company policies and professional development in conjunction with Media Management.

  • Manages up to Supervisor and Associate Media Director on plan execution, project status, brainstorms and workflow.

  • Expected to establish and build strong relationships with internal teams, clients and media partners.

  • Attend client meetings as needed and run point on all SEM efforts, including all follow up correspondence.

  • Reviews and evaluates paid search opportunities, developing POVs as needed.

  • Expected to have strong understanding of search tools and systems, including Doubleclick, Google Analytics, Yahoo, Bing. Etc.

  • Will be expected to lead reporting, optimization and analysis/ROI of all plans.

  • Updates all media flowcharts, budget & invoice reconciliations, and plans as necessary.

  • Should exhibit awareness and desire for continued education within advertising space including new media, industry trends, market conditions and research.

  • Works with Media Planner/Buyer and Supervisor to analyze and monitor results of media campaigns/schedules as prepared by buyers, prepares follow-up presentations and recommends optimization strategies.

  • Will complete R&R’s rrMIT 201 training programs within first year of employment.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

  • Understands and abides by the agency’s business practices and philosophies as well as understands R&R’s policies and procedures.

  • Participates in R&R’s media training program and other training where assigned.


  • Maintains accurate daily time sheets.

  • Maintains an appropriate appearance and demeanor with clients and in other professional environments.

  • Must be conscientious.

  • Must be self-motivated.

  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in advertising or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum three years’ experience in paid search. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must have effective interpersonal skills, be computer literate and have some supervisory experience.
