Position Overview  
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes, revenue recognition, monthly reconciliations, cash management, and ensuring accurate financial reporting through proper accruals and journal entries. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  
Key Responsibilities  
Accounts Payable Management  
  • Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval 
  • Maintain vendor relationships and resolve payment inquiries 
  • Ensure timely payment processing while optimizing cash flow 
  • Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to general ledger 
Revenue Recognition  
  • Apply appropriate revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606 or relevant accounting standards 
  • Review customer contracts and ensure proper revenue allocation and timing 
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries and supporting documentation 
  • Coordinate with sales and operations teams to ensure accurate revenue recording 
Monthly Account Reconciliations  
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts 
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner 
  • Document reconciliation procedures and maintain supporting schedules 
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled by month-end close deadlines 
Cash Management  
  • Monitor daily cash positions and forecast cash requirements 
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies 
  • Coordinate wire transfers and payment processing 
  • Assist with cash flow analysis and reporting 
      
Accruals and Journal Entries  
  • Prepare monthly accrual entries for expenses and revenues 
  • Post journal entries accurately and ensure proper account coding 
  • Maintain detailed support documentation for all entries 
  • Review and analyze account activity for reasonableness 
Month-End Close Process  
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes 
  • Ensure all accounting activities are completed within established deadlines 
  • Prepare and review financial reports and schedules 
  • Assist with audit requests and provide necessary documentation 
Required Qualifications  
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment 
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements 
  • Proficiency in accounting software 
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups, and financial modeling 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
Preferred Qualifications  
  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA 
  • Experience with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) 
  • Knowledge of financial controls/SOX 
  • Experience with financial systems implementation or process improvement
