Description

    Position Overview: 
    We are seeking a highly experienced Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Balance Sheet Risk Consultant to support the design and development of a new commercial software product. This is a contractor role focused on functional design, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the business side. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in ALM and balance sheet risk management, along with hands-on experience working with leading ALM platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to shape the features and functionality of an enterprise-grade solution for financial institutions.
     
    Key Responsibilities: 
    • Act as the ALM subject matter expert for the product development team
    • Work directly with RiskSpan team and client to understand business needs
    • Translate ALM business requirements into functional specifications and product features
    • Provide input on platform calculation engines, and user workflows
    • Partner with UX and engineering teams to define and validate product design
    • Review and validate outputs to ensure business and regulatory alignment
    • Bring market and user perspective based on experience with top ALM systems
    • Serve as the business SME and product owner for ALM-related initiatives
    • Partner with client stakeholders to define requirements and align system capabilities with business objectives
    • Provide functional expertise in ALM concepts, modeling, and platform usage
    • Help interpret model outputs and support internal/external presentations
    • Bring best practices in balance sheet management, capital/liquidity planning, and interest rate risk
     
    Preferred Background and Qualifications: 
    • Strong expertise in ALM, balance sheet management, and interest rate risk modeling
    • Strong working knowledge of ALM and balance sheet risk management principles
    • Prior experience with leading ALM platforms such as:
      • QRM (Quantitative Risk Management) 
      • Moody’s RiskConfidence / Fermat 
      • Empyrean 
      • Polypaths 
      • Wolters Kluwer OneSumX 
      • Oracle ALM / OFSAA 
      • Zafin 
    • Experience working in or supporting financial institutions, particularly in treasury, finance, or risk functions
    • Comfortable interfacing with business and technical stakeholders
    • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
