Product Engineer I

PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES
The Product Engineer is the vital link between Product, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales. Working throughout the organization, this position will support development of Revision’s new products as well as drive continuous improvement for existing products and processes.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the bridge between Product, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales during product development.
  • Work to define product specifications and create test plans and manufacturing work instructions for new products.
  • Create the technical data packages including drawings and BOMs for new products, and new configurations of existing products.
  • Be a resource for continuous improvement of existing products for cost reduction, reliability improvement, or customer engineered solutions.
  • Aid in the Design For Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) process.
  • Coordinate necessary materials for test and evaluation with internal / external labs and users.
  • Liaise with the internal Quality Lab for testing of products in development.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth hand-off as the products move from development to production.
  • Research new sources of supply in support of products and interact with suppliers as necessary.
  • Submit and follow-up on Corrective Action Reports (CARs) as needed and evaluate internal or supplier responses to ensure problems are not only corrected but also prevented from future occurrence.
  • Proactively search for gaps in quality and/or manufacturing processes at both Revision and its suppliers and implement changes to stop potential problems before they occur.
  • Work closely with all concerned parties in the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) that affect manufactured and sourced parts.
  • Support the Contracts Team in responding to customer Bids and Tenders for our products.
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years experience working in engineering, product development, manufacturing, or supply chain management required.
  • Have an understanding of SolidWorks or similar CAD tool.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Must have strong interpersonal / relationship building skills.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office tools required.
  • Highly motivated problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Hands on.
  • Capability to develop a project plan and to manage a project to completion.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO processes a plus.
  • Cross-cultural business experience considered a plus.
  • Experience in the use of ERP programs i.e. Syteline, a plus.
  • U.S. Government authorization required.
Work environment (include physical requirements)
  • Primarily office and laboratory environments.
  • Hybrid telecommuting eligible.
  • Travel to supplier locations required and may include travel to overseas locations.
