Summary: 

The newly established Centre of Excellence (CoE) will operate the IFS Cloud ERP platform and an integrated landscape of complementary technologies, supporting the business in achievement of their strategies and enabling business change and transformation efforts. 

 

The Sr. Manager, Technical Delivery will oversee the technical aspects of the IFS ERP implementation and the broader integrated landscape.  This important role within the Centre of Excellence (CoE) will ensure that all system components function optimally, supporting the company’s operational needs.  Collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party suppliers, the Manager will be responsible for optimizing the methods, practices, tools and operating environment to enable the CoE deliver service excellence.

 

Requirements:   

  • ERP Implementation Leadership:
    • Lead the technical operational aspects of IFS ERP implementation, ensuring alignment with business and operational processes.
    • Manage the IFS ERP system environment, including system configuration, customization, and environment setup, ensuring stability through established process.
    • Oversee the data migration processes and ensure that data from integrated systems is accurately transferred to the new ERP system.
  • Integration Management:
    • Manage the integration of legacy systems with IFS ERP using the Boomi middleware platform, ensuring smooth data flow and process synchronization.
    • Collaborate with integration specialists to implement custom integrations, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and security standards.
    • Monitor integration processes to ensure seamless operation and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Service and Operations Management:
    • Undertake the role of Major Incident Manager for all ERP-related incidents, in line with the CoE’s Incident Management process.
    • Undertake the role of Problem Manager for all ERP-related problems, ensuring all Product Value Streams, technical teams within the CoE, and Group Technology are held to account for managing problems in an effective and consistent manner.
    • Govern the CoE’s Integrated Release Board ensuring release scheduling and prioritization aligns with the wider roadmap.
    • Track, manage and improve service and operational performance using KPIs, dashboards and stakeholder reports.
    • Represent technical changes to the IT Change Advisory Board.
  • Project and Stakeholder Management:
    • Develop and maintain detailed project and deployment plans for technical deliverables, ensuring release and environment management practices are upheld.
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure clear communication and expectations.
    • Regularly report on project progress, risks, and issues to the Technical Delivery Director and other key stakeholders.
  • Team Coordination and Vendor Management:
    • Ensure that internal Application Support Analysts, DevOps Engineers, Integration Engineers, third-party suppliers and external consultants adhere to the service standards and best practices established by the Centre of Excellence.
    • Coordinate with third-party vendors (e.g., IFS and Boomi) to ensure that they meet contractual obligations and deliver high-quality solutions on time.
    • Ensure technical resources are allocated effectively and work collaboratively to resolve any roadblocks.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing:
    • Provide input into internal and external audit processes for ERP, including oversight of system controls.
    • Provide and operate an effective structure and process for user access, roles and provisioning, liaising with value streams and IT as required.
    • Ensure that all technical components of the ERP system are rigorously tested, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Manage the process of identifying and resolving technical defects and ensure that the system meets defined performance and quality standards.
    • Ensure all technical implementations comply with relevant industry regulations, security standards, and data protection requirements (e.g., GDPR).
  • Post-Go-Live Support:
    • Provide ongoing technical support post-implementation, ensuring that any technical issues are quickly identified and resolved.
    • Lead efforts to optimize and improve system performance based on user feedback and monitoring tools.
    • Ensure that support models and processes are in place to handle incidents, requests, system updates, defects, and feature enhancements.
  • Assist in developing change management strategies related to the ERP system’s deployment, including communication plans and training programs.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the ERP system and its integrations, working closely with business units to address evolving needs.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is up-to-date, including system configurations, integration workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions with internal teams to ensure they are well-equipped to manage and maintain the ERP system post-implementation.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the ERP deployment and integrations.
  • Participate in the development of best practices and standards within the Centre of Excellence for future ERP deployments and technical delivery projects.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the Centre of Excellence to leverage shared resources and expertise for the successful delivery of technical projects.

  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.  Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

 

Qualifications:

  • Highschool/GED is required.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with IFS 10 or IFS Cloud is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience undertaking IT Management roles, with experience with ERP systems and large-scale technical delivery is required.
  • 3+ years' experience managing integrations between enterprise-scale systems is required.
  • Ability to travel 5-15%.
  • Knowledge:
    • Deep understanding of ERP systems, particularly IFS, including technical architecture, configuration, and deployment processes.
    • Expertise in using Boomi or similar middleware platforms for integrating ERP systems with associated applications and third-party solutions.
    • Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies, tools, and best practices, ensuring data integrity during the transition from associated systems to the new ERP.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, resourcing and deployment models that support ERP systems.
    • Expert in applying ITILv3 good practice, such as Incident Management, Change Management, etc., to all essential functions and responsibilities.
    • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and project delivery frameworks, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to adapt based on the project needs.
  • Ability:
    • Leading and managing technical teams
    • Proven experience working within large-scale technical projects, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor technical workstreams effectively.
    • Ability to proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid disruption in technical delivery.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across ERP systems and integrated applications.
    • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, with the capability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing and coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
    • Strong skills in managing relationships with external vendors, consultants, and internal business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful delivery.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements, maintaining a proactive and flexible approach to technical delivery challenges.

 

Anticipated base salary range:  $144,000 - $169,000

 

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
