Summary:
The Lead Architect will be a forward thinker, passionate technologist, expert in modern technology practices, and has the experience to operate across the enterprise through understanding of available technology and tools.The IFS Systems Architect leads on the architecture and design of the RES global IFS ERP implementation and its interaction with a suite of integrated platforms and technology.
The role will require experience with a combination of business, architecture, data and previous IFS technical, functional and implementation experience. Aligning those skills with the renewable energy industry, existing RES technology, and emerging market trends will be key in delivering best of breed solutions that contribute to RES’ market competitiveness.
Requirements:
- Collaborates with business stakeholders, project managers, and other IT professionals across the RES organization to guide the design and evolution of the ERP and related platforms.
- Owns the creation and maintenance of an overall technology roadmap and strategy.
- Manages and enhances technology and data architecture best practices, standards, patterns and reference architectures.
- Governs the quality and consistency of inventory artefacts for IFS Configurations, Modifications, Reports and Integrations.
- Conducts data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements, provides input from a business and IT perspective.
- Defines and governs reference and master data, working in collaboration with value streams, data owners and stewards in the business and supporting functions.
- Collaborates on and designs solution architectures that incorporate a wide range of systems, including Cloud and on-premises applications, business analytics, integration, collaboration, project management, and ERP, into internal IFS systems.
- Designs solutions that align with the business, and IT strategies, including documented cloud and API strategies, ensuring fit for purpose and wide adoption implementations that support the strategy.
- Makes cross-functional and cross-value stream decisions, balancing the needs of stakeholders, value, and risk.
- Participates in developing user test cases and system integration testing and validates test results during testing.
- Ensures test strategies involve appropriate integration and process components.
- Develops and contributes to architecture artifacts and documentation such as functional and nonfunctional requirements, systems landscape, capability maps, integration diagrams, and data flows.
- Contributes to governance and implementation of architectural standards.
- Understands and contributes to best practices in data integration and management, including collaborating with and driving effective data acquisition, modeling, presentation, and master data management.
- Ensure cloud solutions are designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
- Proactively collaborate with RES’s cyber security team, data officer / legal, regulatory and compliance experts - so that the ERP platform can constantly be kept aligned to RES risks and policies and that those teams can measure and confidence in risk mitigations within the ERP.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Stay current on IFS product updates and industry best practices to provide informed support.
- Stay informed about Cloud platform management models, tools, and industry trends to drive innovation and continuously improve practices.
- Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to system enhancements and integrations.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and process improvement.
- Provide on-call support as needed for critical integration issues and system outages.
Safety:
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Qualifications:
- Highschool/GED is required.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field is preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with IFS 10 or IFS Cloud is preferred.
- 5+ years' experience with cloud infrastructure management, including AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers is required.
- 3+ years of experience in Environment and Release Management is required.
- Ability to travel 5-15%.
- Knowledge:
- Can develop and document short and long-term technology plan that incorporates and ties directly to the organization vision and strategy.
- Demonstrate experience in adoption of new innovative technologies through research to deployment of a solution.
- Knowledge of object-oriented development principles and methodologies such as SDLCs and DevOps.
- Knowledge of systems integration and communications standards such as API interfaces, JSON data export formats, data transformation, and data security principles.
- Experience with solutions design and fundamental understanding of several IT technology areas (business process, integration development, IT infrastructure, cloud principles, and security).
- Knowledge and or certifications relating to architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
- Communicate architectural decisions, strategy, and project status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills: able to identify potential issues & risks before they arise related to managing renewables projects.
- Functional competencies include agility, collaboration, building strategic partnerships, customer focus, and system thinking. Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Anticipated base salary range: $133,000 - $157,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
