We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Legal department in Colombia to provide legal advice to the development, EPC and finance teams and lead the company’s energy transactions in Colombia.  
 
Position Title: Legal Counsel 
Department: Legal 
Entity: Energy Group LATAM 
Location: Bogotá, Colombia 
Reports To: Senior Legal Counsel 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Manage and assist with legal matters for our LATAM division for projects in Colombia and other jurisdictions as needed (as Chile, Brazil, Mexico, etc.).
  • Draft and negotiate various contracts and documents and support the organization operationally.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures, guidelines, and documentation templates.
  • Stay abreast of the applicable legal framework and regulations for our business industry.
  • Support to Sr. Legal Counsel in Dispute Resolution, including complex arbitrations and strategic litigation.
  • Direct interaction with external counsels, discussing and aligning strategies.
  • Monitor legal risk in documentation and give guidance on the acceptable assumption of risk.
  • Provide legal assessments and advice.
  • Work to create internal procedures and to improve the existing ones. 
  • Support Legal team with Corporate, EPC, Project Development, M&A, Regulatory, Real Estate, Project Finance matters and due diligence.
Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree in law.
  • 1-3 years of experience as in-house counsel of multinational companies and/or top-tier legal firms.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electric Energy Sectors.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documents.
  • Knowledge in Arbitration and litigation management.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
