Description

The Manager of Pharmacy Services supports internal customers, clients, and Quantum Health members in understanding issues associated with medications and medication management.  Responsible for implementing and executing best pharmacy practices at Quantum Health.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical resource to POD managers,  clinical staff, and non-clinical staff within each POD to address escalated issues or assist with medication questions or pharmacy concerns for Quantum Health members
  • Work with Chief Medical Officer, Chief Clinical Strategy Officer, and Medical Directors on clinical issues that include pharmacy services and medication management.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and non-clinical staff to address Quantum Health members’ medication and pharmacy issues.
  • Performs Pharmacy utilization reviews and identifies opportunities for cost savings, improved safety, potential non-adherence, or opportunities for care coordination.
  • Responsible for the oversight of clinical practice within the pharmacy work group, coach, educate and oversee Pharmacy Services Coordinator(s).
  • Work in partnership with the Client Engagement Group as needed.
  • Lead and support internal educational activities focused on medication and pharmacy services.
  • Assure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in clinical leadership meetings and activities.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for pharmacy related initiatives
  • Provide oversight and advancement of specialty pharmacy site of care program.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Current active and unrestricted license as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Ohio
  • Doctorate Degree or Bachelor‘s degree in Pharmacy, with equivalent clinical experience.
  • Understanding of pharmacy benefits required, preferably with Pharmacy Benefits experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a variety of settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and cross functional collaboration and people skills.
  • Self-directed, organized, energetic, compassionate and “out of the box thinker.”
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, clinical staff, non-clinical staff, and Quantum Health members.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and supervise pharmacy work group as needed, previous management experience preferred.
