Job Summary:
This position is involved in the analysis, design, and improvement of healthcare outcomes based research through the use of Industrial and Systems Engineering principles. Experienced contributor with knowledge in a wide variety of business and/or systems processes. Expert in the analysis of existing integrated processes, procedures, and methods with the ability to promote effective business operations through standardization, improvement, simplification, discontinuance or other methods. Creates and implements process change by partnering with all levels across organization on proposed process and procedure enhancements. Including:
Root Cause Analysis
• Time Studies
• Lean Six Sigma
• 5S
• Process Improvements

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Management:
Partnering with operations on call center processes and efficiencies.
• Establishes workable and trackable schedules. Works with staff, outside firms and/or consultants to agree on plans and timetables for a specific project.
• Manages multiple, often concurrent, projects and meets deadlines.
• Maintains project controls and reporting for cost, scope and schedule.
• Develops execution strategy, including procurement.
• Balances multiple demands within assignment, e.g., executes contingency plans to recover from schedule slippage and financial overruns.
• Independently performs economic analysis and feasibility studies.
• Responsible for achieving financial targets in support of business objectives.
• Establishes process lifecycle, manages all phases and customer requests.

Technical/Design
Independently gathers performance data and performs analysis. Prepares and communicates recommendations and respective action plans to drive cost containment and cost reduction efforts. Executes the recommendations.
• Uses statistics to build models for operations processes. Interprets results and reports findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Anticipates future directions. Benchmarks internally and externally. Uses internal and external benchmarking as a tool to drive improvement in areas (KPIs, OEEs, Capacity, etc)
• Provides assistance to operations providing technical expertise and leadership on high priority issues.
• Possesses knowledge, background and expanded experience with simulation with root cause analysis and Lean Six Sigma principles.
• Expert in design development configuration, customization, deployment, and maintenance of a wide variety of business and system processes. Establishes KPIs to measure if processes are being followed across business organization.
• Ability to tell the story using data analysis to support business cases.

Problem Solving/Innovation
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using Lean Six Sigma skills.
• Responsible for improvement initiatives that define equipment data, equipment capabilities, utilization, efficiencies and obsolescence as it relates to processing
• Provide technical leadership in the areas of Root Cause Analysis, Time Studies and Lean Six Sigma.
• Establishes process lifecycle, manages all phases and customer requests.

Organization Interface
Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult operations problems associated with specific projects.

• Provides training.

Accountability/Scope
Works under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
• Identifies and quantifies technical risks and their consequences relative to the success of part of a project; recommends appropriate action, e.g. reports calculations and recommendations in terms concrete enough for management to make an informed decision.
• Decisions or recommendations would typically achieve department/project objectives.
• Consults with leadership on continuous process improvement including process redesign and /or re-engineering initiatives.
• Performs evaluations and develops recommendations by creating and/or using workflows, time studies, benchmarks and pilots.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline, plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 2+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience. Additional post-graduate education may contribute towards the desired years of experience.

Experience
Undergraduate degree in Applied Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Two to five (2-5) years of experience in operations, logistics, or healthcare
• Experience in performance management, productivity and Industrial and Systems Engineering (preferred)
• Time Study experience
• Lean Six Sigma
• Root Cause Analysis
