The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Role 

Qlik is in search of a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products through exploratory and automated testing.

• Comprehensive Testing: Engage in exploratory, integration, and regression/scalability testing for new features and existing products.
• Strategic Thinking: Develop test strategies and plans by understanding the scope of feature requirements, analyzing risks, and generating test ideas.

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact: 

• Automation Leadership: Increase automation coverage by automating functional and integration test cases, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in testing processes.
• Defect Verification and Validation: Verify and validate defects and features, measuring success not only by the bugs found but also by the absence of bugs created by team members.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with developers during design and development phases, identifying defects early in the process.
• Customer Support Collaboration: Work with Qlik product support to analyze and investigate defects reported by customers, aiming to identify effective workarounds.
• Technology Evaluation: Identify and evaluate new technologies to enhance the performance, maintainability, and reliability of our machine learning systems.
• Leadership and Planning: Lead tasks, guide team members, and participate in planning for future work, contributing to team success.

We’re looking for a teammate with: 

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of testing experience, preferably in product development teams, with proficiency in both manual and automation testing.
• Experience in Playwright, Protractor is highly preferred, along with expertise in writing automation scripts using JavaScript.
• Experience in exploratory, risk-based, integration, and regression testing of software products.
• Good understanding of software architecture, experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and familiarity with Agile methodology.
• Experience with Qlik products is a significant advantage.
• Knowledge about JavaScript/Go-Lang/NodeJS code to troubleshoot, experience in automating functional and integration test cases.
• Familiarity with Micro Services, container technologies like Docker, Linux, Windows is a plus.
• Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and ability to lead on new tasks, guiding team members for optimal performance.
• Ability to learn, work with, and apply multiple technologies to solve real customer problems, staying updated with best practices in testing.
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across geographically dispersed teams.

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (Hybrid role)
