As a member of the EMEA Presales Engineering team, you will provide the sales team with technical and product knowledge to help it achieve specific sales revenue goals as well as perform agreed upon major business objectives designed to further company-wide business goals. You also act as a point of contact for other in-region presales engineers to other departments within Progress. As a Sales Engineer, you will communicate in highly technical conversations with customers and partners and provide input and expertise on design and implementation with them. Travel is may be required up to 20% of the time.
In this role, you will:
- Articulate the technical and commercial benefits, ROI, and/or TCO of our solution.
- Perform In-depth demonstrations of our features during customer and partner meetings, technical workshops, webinars, and seminars.
- Document activities in Salesforce cases.
- Focus on solution-based sales.
- Design, implement and perform proof of concepts (POC).
- Act as a technical point of contact for the EMEA Sales teams. Engage with diverse teams and provide guidance and training on the technical aspects of File Transfer.
- Provide technical support to prospective customers and partners who are trialing File Transfer products.
- Provide training and product demonstrations for prospective customers and partners.
- Act as a point of contact for Presales Engineers between other Progress EMEA departments.
- On demand, attend conferences and shows to assist Progress Sales Team.
- Create and maintain demo environments used for Product presentations.
- Manage and deliver internal projects and meet sales targets.
Your background:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a Pre-Sales role.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to deliver technical and sales presentations autonomously when required.
- Ability to relay technical information to customers with varying skill levels.
- Experience working with and supporting Partner Channels and End Users.
- In-depth knowledge of various protocols, including SMB, SFTP, FTP, HTTPS, SMTP, ASx, etc.
- Understanding of REST API implementation and usage.
- Proven background in networks/systems management, security applications deployment, and database management.
- Experience managing Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Technical knowledge of network security, endpoint, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) technologies.
- Understanding of Cloud and Hybrid architecture, such as Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), and how they work within infrastructure.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a “How can I help you” approach.
- Must be able to collaborate effectively with others and communicate in an open and friendly manner.
- Excellent business writing and presentation skills in English language.
- Experience working with Professional Services projects
- Comfortable with and open to travel. Some work may require weekends.
Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have:
- Technical Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM.
- Knowledge of Italian and/or French language.
