We are seeking an exceptional Senior Principal, Software Engineer, to provide technical leadership for the evolution of the ShareFile platform. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on engineering excellence with strategic technical leadership, championing modern software development practices, AI-enabled SDLC, platform modernization, and engineering productivity improvements. You will influence technical direction across multiple teams, mentor senior engineers, and play a key role in shaping the future architecture of ShareFile. 

In this role, you will work on: 

• Lead Design and development:  
• Own and drive the architecture roadmap for critical ShareFile services. 
• Design and build highly scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable cloud-native and hybrid solutions using C# and .Net Core and other modern tech stacks. 
• Lead architecture reviews and make critical technology decisions across products and platforms. 
• Define engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices. 
• Ensure that the software solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet the highest quality standards. 
• Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership, product management, and senior stakeholders. 
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to create business value. 
• AI-Driven Engineering Excellence 
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development across the SDLC. 
• Establish best practices for using tools such as GitHub Copilot, AI agents, MCP-enabled development tools, automated code review systems, and AI-assisted testing frameworks. 
• Leverage AI to improve Requirements analysis, Design reviews, Code generation, Test automation, Code reviews, Incident investigation, Documentation generation, Developer productivity 
• Guide engineering teams in adopting responsible AI development practices. 

  Process and Practices: 

• Lead the design and development of complex distributed systems. 
• Ensure the delivery of secure, compliant, and highly available services. 
• Participate in strategic planning, roadmap definition, and prioritization. 
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Senior and junior engineers. 
  Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and help improve the overall skill sets of the team 
• Influence engineering decisions across multiple teams without direct authority. 
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. 

Collaboration & Strategy: 

• Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. 
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Build alignment across geographically distributed teams. 
• Represent ShareFile engineering in executive-level technical discussions when needed. 

Your background:  

• 14+ years of professional software development experience. 
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. 
• Strong experience designing and building large-scale SaaS and enterprise platforms. 
• Experience implementing AI-based developer productivity solutions. 
• Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET / .NET Core, Distributed systems, REST APIs, Microservices architecture 
• Deep experience with cloud platforms AWS (preferred), Azure 
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Observability platforms 
• Strong architectural design and system decomposition skills. 
• Extensive experience with security-first software development practices. 
• Demonstrated success leading multi-team technical initiatives.
