We’re looking for a talented and energetic Associate, Post Award Budget Development to join our team! This is a permanent role to be located in our office in Poland, Bulgaria or the UK. We are also open to home based working.

As an Associate for Post Award Budget Development, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the budget development life-cycle on various Change Order budgets throughout the life-cycle of a study.  A key success factor will be the creation of accurate and appropriately resourced budgets that profitably meet customer product development needs. 

You’ll be Responsible for: 

Promoting commercial and operational success through collaboration with operational departments to ensure appropriate budget development:

  • Managing all aspects of the trial budget process including trial cost analysis, final study budget development including pass-through and labor costs, maintenance of tracking systems, and trial budget management through the life-cycle (post award). 
  • Effectively interfacing with the Business Development group, Finance group, the Contract Development group, Global Project Managers, and Regional Project Managers to achieve an accurate and appropriate budget. 
  • Working with operational representatives to continuously improve analytical methodologies and communication tools for supporting the optimal financial execution of clinical trials. 
  • Proactively building and maintaining internal and external relationships that support the gathering of business intelligence to support financial & specific operational activities. 

Supporting new Project Teams with final budget and change order budget preparation:

  • Effectively managing the budget development lifecycle for Change Order budgets, as needed, throughout the study.
  • Ensuring appropriate contributors are involved, setting budget development schedule, coordinating and collating input to meet final budget timelines; identifying, assessing and resolving or escalating issues as needed
  • Preparing appropriate resource/service fees using algorithms and electronic spreadsheets, which may also include assisting in departmental reviews, analyzing final costs and providing feedback to appropriate stakeholders for input
  • Working with Business Development or Project Management to interact with or present Change Order budget to customers
  • Providing technical guidance and training to operational employees to ensure consistency in preparation and interpretation of cost estimates
  • Providing face-to-face, written and telephone contact with representatives from pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device companies, when requested

You’ll Need this to be Considered:

  • Undergraduate degree or its international equivalent preferably in the Sciences or Business Administration/ Marketing, from an accredited institution 
  • Relevant industry experience, which includes experience in the budget development process
  • Strong understanding of CRO services, including knowledge of the processes and procedures for conducting a clinical trial, to ensure the production of an appropriate Final or Change Order budget. General knowledge of clinical trial management services and governing guidelines
  • Excellent writing capabilities; ability to write reports and business correspondence; Good mathematics skills, including ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; and the ability to apply basic concepts of accounting and finance
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word; Knowledge of web based communication tools for conferences
