What you'll do
As the Behavioral Health Clinician III (Mental Health Counselor) you will be responsible for providing quality counseling, case management, and community support services to clients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders at Pioneer Human Services (PHS) using evidence-based and promising practices, effectively meeting the need of PHS's clientele; and documenting treatment and case management service provision in a timely and effective manner.
What you'll bring
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
- Master’s Degree in mental health, behavioral health, or related human services field with curriculum related to counseling and psychology
- Must possess a current mental health associate’s license (i.e. LMHCA, LMFTA, LSWAA, LSWAIC) or be a Mental Health Professional and an Agency Affiliated Counselor
- Mental Health Professional (MHP) criteria in Washington state:
- A psychiatrist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, or social worker as defined in chapters 71.05 RCW and 71.34 RCW
- A person who is licensed by the Department of Health as a Mental Health Counselor, Mental Health Counselor Associate, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
- A person who is registered by the Department of Health as an Agency Affiliated Counselor who has a master’s degree or further advanced degree in counseling or one of the social sciences from an accredited college or university. In addition, at least two years of experience in direct treatment of person(s) with mental illness or emotional disturbance, such experience gained under the supervision of a mental health professional recognized by the department or attested to by the licensed behavioral health agency.
- "Agency affiliated counselor" means a person registered under chapter 18.19.210 RCW, who is engaged in counseling and employed by an agency listed in WAC 246-810-016 or an agency recognized under WAC 246-810-017 to provide a specific counseling service or services.
- Mental Health Professional (MHP) criteria in Washington state:
Preferably you'll bring
- 1 year of experience in mental health, behavioral health, or other related human services field
- SUDP/SUDPT (dually credentialed)
- If designated by the work location, employee must have a valid driver’s license, personal auto insurance, and a driver's abstract/driving record acceptable to Pioneer’s auto insurance company. Employee must meet requirements of Pioneer’s approved driver policy and guidelines.
