Job Overview:

Our Doctor's Assistant provides the integral link between the doctor and the client throughout the pet's ongoing treatment. The DA must be friendly, personable, professional, courteous, and compassionate to the challenges clients present. Communication duties and skills focus on relating information and instructions from the doctor to the client and being the key triage on new updates from clients about their pet's welfare.

With an opportunity of versatility to assist the technician treating team and have hands on learning on patient care, this unique role is a cornerstone of our medical support team and vital to our client care experience!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review new patient records prior to consultation.
  • Obtain diagnostic result reports with communication with our referral partners and laboratories.
  • Provide follow-up phone calls.
  • Review treatment plans and invoices.
  • Update clients on hospitalized patient status and doctor review updates.
  • Coordinate referral and emergency transfers with technicians and doctors.
  • Discuss discharge and medication instructions.
  • Compose and report clinical summary letters.
  • Prepare clinical trial study reports and manage tracking of trial patients.
  • Assist technicians with patient care as needed.
  • Assist client care specialists with client coordination as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and work on your feet the majority of the day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
