** This position is based on-site at our corporate headquarters in Austin, TX and is a hybrid role in office 2-3 days a week. ** 

Job Summary:      

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Special Projects is a force-multiplier for Thrive by leading multiple ad hoc projects and initiatives. The Director of Special Projects will wear many hats to support the business.  They will work in partnership with the CEO/COO and other members of the Executive Leadership Team to solve key business problems by leveraging their ability to extract insights from data and analytics. They will also problem solve to provide solutions for current and future business gaps, manage projects in support of strategic priorities, partner cross functionally to define the right questions and assess impact on the enterprise and prepare presentations.    

Responsibilities:      
Lead Enterprise Projects     
  • Support Ad hoc special led projects as needed.
  • Gather input from diverse sources to provide independent and objective feedback on various company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the successful and timely execution of key priorities and pilots.
  • Lead and support enterprise initiatives by directly scoping, planning, and executing key projects.
  • Follow-up and ensure assigned action items have timely response on matters that significantly affect the organization.
  • Creates agendas and materials for key meetings and report on current status of execution.
  • Support CEO and the Executive Team in the creation and preparation of Board decks and Board communication.
Oversee Performance Objectives     
  • Review of company business lines or owned business to determine optimal growth strategies. Examples include building analytical tools to support field high priority projects and conducting competitor analyses as input to company strategy.
  • Manage performance management tools to track performance and opportunities and partner with department leads to achieve agreed upon performance objectives.
  • Work closely with the CEO/COO to develop and implement the company's strategic initiatives. This involves conducting research, analyzing data, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Perform High Impact Data Analysis and Modeling     
  • Partner with Finance team to complete high impact analyses and review various levers to drive improved company and field performance.
  • Synthesize various reports and data sources to provide input and insights to C-Suite leaders.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and external benchmarking to challenge the status quo.
  • Conduct sophisticated and high-impact analysis to make recommendations to the CEO and stakeholders in the business.
  • Validate analytical conclusions together with senior management and provide key strategic analysis and insights on various data.
  • Proactively seek out challenges and potential derailers of projects and works to resolve quickly & efficiently before escalation required.
  • Develop the appropriate tools and measurement systems to drive the adoption of operational strategy.
  • Conduct internal and external benchmarking and research for key projects, including, but not limited to, investment opportunities, M&A opportunities, technology processes, and overall business improvements.
  • Track Implementation success metrics and present dashboards to monitor implementation status.
  • Support projects, communication plans and continuous improvement initiatives to positively affect business advancement, ensuring department milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.

Key Qualifications for Success in this Role:     
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required, MBA required.
  • 2+ years of top tier strategy consulting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of strategy, planning and finance.
  • Exceptional project management and change management skills with a detailed analytical mindset Demonstrated results in project / process implementation and adoption.
  • High level of communication, influencing and negotiation skills, coupled with ability to build relationships, influence, drive execution of organizational priorities, and always maintain highest level of confidentiality.
  • Robust data and analytics skills.
  • Well-developed skill with PowerPoint and slide deck generation.
  • Advanced organization and planning skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, balance competing priorities and to work with little direction.
  • Comfortable driving multiple, disparate initiatives at once and adapting as priorities shift.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of enterprise solutions and change management, experience in data analysis, and experience working with senior executives required.
  • Handles sensitive information and works closely with the CEO on important matters. Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality is crucial.
