JOB SUMMARY:
 
The Carpenter I, under general supervision, performs work in the construction, repair and maintenance of structures and related physical facilities. 
 
     

JOB DUTIES: 
The Carpenter I is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work which includes, but is not limited to:      

  1. Constructing, remodeling, retrofitting and repairing interior and exterior structures as directed by Foreman. 
  2. Assists Lead or Foreman in daily duties as required for each project 
  3. Ability to work from blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures;  
  4. Has general knowledge Oxford building standards, construction specifications, and is compliant with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; 
  5. Maintaining a clean, hazard free work area 
  6. Maintaining and safekeeping all company equipment, tools and vehicles; and maintaining appropriate work and repair records 
  7. Promptly and properly record all work performed and work hours 
  8. Responsible for organization and maintaining receipt log for all material, tool & vehicle purchases. 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
     

  1. High school diploma or GED, supplemented by completion of a trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work. 
  2. 1-2 years of experience working as a carpenter in a commercial, industrial or facilities operations setting, including rough and finished carpentry.
  3. Maintain professionalism with clients, team members and vendors.
  4. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage; ability to provide own transportation.
  5. Must have own hand tools for use.
  6. Ability to learn new technologies as required.
