The targeted salary range is supplemented by a competitive total rewards package. The salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors such as the individual’s skillset, level of experience applicable to the role and internal equity considerations.

The Director, Information Technology leads organization-wide information technology (IT) and telecommunication functions, directing strategic and operational initiatives to develop and implement IT strategies, roadmaps, and capital plans aligned with business goals. Oversees IT projects and system development, ensuring efficient implementation and continuous improvement of technology services and departmental performance.

Key Accountabilities:
- Strategic IT Planning, Lead Change and Communication.
- Technology Oversight, Risk Management and Compliance.
- Technical People Leader, Highly Collaborative and Focused on Partnership.
- Provide Financial Direction, IT Procurement, and Oversight for Division.
- Operational Excellence Through Continuous Improvement and Innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Assesses potential impacts of emerging technology trends to the organization.
- Leads the adoption of new technologies and systems to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Provides direction for procurement requirements and processes for IT equipment and services, and, in collaboration with the Procurement division, negotiates with IT vendors.
- Manages IT contracts and vendors, including vendor performance management and service delivery evaluation.
- Oversees IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timeliness, within budget, and that the organization’s standards and requirements are met.
- Identifies and mitigates IT risks, ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Leads security policies, data protection measures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitors IT performance, ensuring high reliability, availability, and service ability to meet Ornge’s 24/7 patient care operational and information management obligations.
- Inspires, leads, coaches, and develops a team of top talent creating a culture that fosters engagement, passion, and enthusiasm for the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
- Uses change management to lead and support the planning and implementation of transformation initiatives and business process reengineering.
- Serves as the primary liaison between the IT department and other business units, executive management, and external partners. Communicates IT strategies and initiatives effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Prepares and monitors the annual IT budget and long-term IT-related financial forecasts (operational and capital). Participates in Ornge operational and financial planning process.
- Identifies and implements process and technology changes to improve and address challenges in our systems and reduce non-value-added work for their team.
- Focuses on data integrity and quality to provide greater insights and timely analysis, leading to better data-driven decision making.
- Regularly reviews existing programs, processes, and practices to ensure continuous improvement, innovation, and alignment to fulfil the broader Ornge strategy.
- Defines, measures, and communicates success metrics to partners across the business.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Degree in Computer Science, Information and Technology or equivalent.
- A minimum of 10+ years as a Senior Manager/Director IT.
- Demonstrated IT technical knowledge and experience (architecture, applications, infrastructure, end-user devices, cyber security, and end-user support).
- Exceptional leadership skills to engage, motivate, inspire, develop, and lead highly technical teams and senior management team.
- Strong communicator and relationship builder, ability to influence and work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Ability to set the strategic IT vision, enable enterprise-wide projects and initiatives to drive favourable outcomes in-line with Ornge’s Strategic Plan.
