As a valued member of the Ornge Air team, the Quality Assurance Inspector (Auditor) plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and excellence in air ambulance services. You’ll be responsible for executing Ornge’s quality assurance programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and compliance with the Ontario Standards for Air Operators. This is your opportunity to contribute to the vital work of delivering life-saving care, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment dedicated to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager and the Ornge team in the establishment of procedures as required by the aviation regulations, contractual obligations, and stakeholder requirements, in ensuring continuing compliance in both maintenance and flight operations.
  • Regular reporting of internal audit statistical data and preparation of analysis reports, identifying trends to be reviewed, investigated, and actioned.
  • Provide written reports addressing audit findings, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of corrective actions for effectiveness in preventing recurrences.
  • Provide Quality Control Inspection (QCI) functions in the tracking of projects and ensuring all quality compliance issues are addressed with regards to the regulatory conformance, OEM, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop and amend technical manuals (MPM, MCM, MEL, Procedures, etc.) as required.
  • Advising and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager on regulatory compliance departures and deviations, non-conformances, incident/accident investigations and stakeholder complaints.
  • Perform investigations initiated through reports from the Safety Management System for incidents with compliance implications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with a diploma in Aviation Maintenance is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an Aviation Quality Inspector role.
  • Thorough understanding of government standards as they relate to the aircraft industry (including CARs, FARs, EASA, and ISO).
  • AME M1 and/or M2 license is preferred.
  • Experience with the following software applications is preferred:
    • Adobe FrameMaker (authoring, DITA experience not required)
    • Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • Adobe LiveCycle Designer
    • Articulate 360 (Storyline 360, Rise); and
  • Experience in administration of a Learning Management System is an asset.
