As the senior authority responsible for the continued airworthiness of our fleet and designated Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) under Transport Canada regulations, you will shape, oversee, and elevate the entire maintenance program that keeps Ornge’s air ambulance aircraft mission‑ready 24/7.

Key Accountabilities:
- Serve as Ornge’s designated Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM), ensuring full compliance with Transport Canada regulations and maintaining the continued airworthiness of all Ornge‑operated aircraft.
- Oversee the development, direction, and implementation of maintenance and inspection standards, procedures, and methods to meet or exceed regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
- Develop and execute preventative and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure aircraft reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by modernizing maintenance processes, leveraging technology, and identifying automation opportunities to enhance serviceability and data accuracy.
- Manage operational and financial planning for the maintenance department, including budgeting, resource forecasting, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure all quality assurance standards, technical records, manuals, and reference materials remain current and compliant.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to Chief Engineers, Managers, and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of high performance, safety, and accountability.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including Transport Canada, maintenance providers, and senior leadership, to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
- Drive strategic planning and program evaluation, presenting updates and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board when required.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure maintenance programs continue evolving with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and organizational strategy.
Qualifications:
- Post‑secondary education or equivalent technical training in aviation maintenance operations and/or business (required)
- Degree or diploma in Aviation Management or Engineering (preferred)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- 10+ years of aviation maintenance experience
- Experience in a Manager or Director role within a large, complex organization (preferred)
- Experience working in a unionized environment (preferred)
- Previous experience as PRM or Quality Assurance Manager for a Transport Canada 703/704/705 operator (preferred)
- Experience with rotor or turbine aircraft operations (preferred)
- Must meet all standards required by Transport Canada to be appointed as Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to Transport Canada standards (preferred)
- Expertise with aviation maintenance and materials management systems (e.g., Ramco Aviation Suite)
- Proficiency with MS Office for reporting, analysis, planning, and project documentation
