Role Description:

 

The Associate, HR/People Experience (PeOps) Business Partner will immediately become an important contributor and strategic partner to the broader HR team and to those leaders and teammates you directly support. S/he will execute a set of responsibilities to ensure effectiveness of a number of human resources functions, including but not limited to, recruiting, on-boarding, training, and employee relations, all of which are core to Oak Street's success.

 

The Associate, PeEx Business Partner will be expected to use a data driven approach to support the business by leveraging team health data (e.g., attrition, engagement, staffing, performance management, succession planning, etc.) to identify areas of strength and opportunity and to develop the associated recommendations and solutions that align with driving business outcomes while ensuring the appropriate change management and risk mitigation best practices are being observed.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategically support the leaders and teammates you support through the HRBP's top areas of focus, i.e.,  (1) team health (2) change management and (3) risk mitigation

  • Strategically partner and liaison between Chicago PeEx central team and local teams to help drive company-wide initiatives such as New Hire Orientation, 90 Day Reviews, Mid-Year Reviews, Annual Required Education, Leader Foundations Training, and Engagement Action Plans

  • Collaborate on corrective action measures and ensure consistency of policies and guidelines

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory concerns including: Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to the Human Resources function such as FLSA, ADA, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and FMLA

  • Enhance the level of employee relations support, by fostering a high level of employee trust, while providing appropriate coaching and advice to location leadership

  • Schedule and conduct new team member orientation

  • Support the PeOps Talent Acquisition Team by:

    • Staying abreast of local hiring events, trends, etc.

    • Posting job openings internally and externally

    • Screening candidates (review resumes and perform phone interviews)

    • Coordinating interview process with hiring managers

  • Other duties, as assigned. 

 

What are we looking for?

This is a challenging role requiring strong general management and leadership skills. We're looking for:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in human resources with a specialization in employee relations in a multi-unit setting

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefit, payroll and training administration

  • Experience with interpreting dashboards and developing the associated priorities and action plans

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven planning, priority setting and time management skills

  • Ability to quickly build trusting relationships, gain credibility, and partner with leaders and peers

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion

  • Proven customer service skills

  • Unimpeachable integrity and maturity

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Flexible, self-starter, able to manage multiple ongoing projects without close supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient with Google Suite (i.e., Sheets, Docs, Google Slides)

  • Must have access to reliable transportation daily

  • US work authorization
