About the Department

NYRR's Runner Products & Services department supports the training, racing and community experience of our runners. Our Runner Products team provides runners with the resources to stay fit and achieve their running goals - through classes, seminars and customized training programs. The team also provides experiences to enhance the runner's engagement with the running community and their experience at NYRR events, whether it is through our membership program, race photography or ticketed events. The Runner Services team is the information source for our runner, serving for a conduit of information and an advocate for NYRR's runner-first philosophy.

 

 

Brief Overview:

 

Run Center Representative key highlight in the role is to be resourceful, adaptive and organized. Helping the team to enhance the runner's engagement with the running community and their experience at NYRR events.

 

Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):

 

  • Provide best-in-class, runner-first customer service in the NYRR Run Center
  • Distribute race bibs and premiums to runners while answering questions regarding registration and race logistics
  • Field inquiries regarding membership and assist with setting up new NYRR profiles.
  • Answer My NYRR phones and emails as needed, following guidelines and procedures, consistently meeting all satisfaction metrics goals.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken in NYRR’s Customer Service Management program Desk.com.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere at Run Center events, providing tours, demonstrating interactive digital features and assisting with other visitor experiences as needed.
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment to the NYRR brand and core values: excellence, teamwork, passion, innovation, service and integrity.
  • Create a fun experience through positive runner interactions
  • Work on other projects or assignments as needed
  • Position will be up to 25 hours per week

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year Customer Service experience
  • Previous experience in fitness industry a plus
  • Previous experience in call center a plus
     

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Skills and Attributes:

  • Passion for NYRR and the brand’s Run for Life mission
  • Available for weekend work
  • Candidate should be organized team player with a personable manner, excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, and should have the ability to work with a diverse group of staff and participants
  • Minimum of 1-year Customer Service experience
  • Previous experience in fitness industry a plus
  • Excellent communication and listening skills a must
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented; ability to manage multiple Experience priorities and deadlines
  • Multi-lingual skills a plus

 

Education & Certifications:

  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor degree preferred
